UNPAID AD: BOX SENT FOR REVIEW.

If you followed me for a while, you will know how much I love subscription boxes! I’ve actually written about these several times and written roundups on everything from subscription boxes for your pet to ones for new mothers!

I just love the idea of getting something that’s just for you every month; it makes such a nice change from getting bills and junk mail in the post! So when I heard about this new idea that is a subscription box specifically for female business owners called The Business Box I really really loved the idea and agreed to receive one for review.

What is the business box?

Created by Lauren, who runs four businesses of her own, the idea is a subscription box specifically aimed at supporting your development as a female entrepreneur. Each month you’ll receive 4-6 items; usually consisting of a self-development book, a range of lovely stationery, a self-care item (because we all know running a business is TOUGH!) and access to online training. You’ll also receive access to an online community. Because of the business element of the box, their tagline is #myfavouritebusinessexpense which I love! What’s more, there is currently an offer for a smaller trial box of just 3 items for £10.

My review of The Business Box

Each month is a bit different so in my box for stationary, I received a brightly coloured ‘get things done’ list pad (so handy!), a rose gold pen, and some pink post-it notes and pencils from Sas and Belle’s ‘You Go Girl range.’

I’m not sure if I’m a bit old for girl power stationary but I do love these and have already started using them in my office. The list pad is also especially useful.

My business book in the box was called ‘The Experience Business’ by James Sinclair and it’s actually exactly what I’ve been looking for! It’s all about pricing strategy and how to figure out your own pricing based on experience (rather than say just an hourly rate) which is something I’m discovering is increasingly important!

Given its a female-orientated subscription box I think it would have been nice to have a book written by female business leaders. However, I received September’s box and had a peek on their Instagram to look at the next boxes and the books are indeed written by women!

This is great as I personally find male-written business books hard to relate to at times so I love the idea of receiving a new one written by a woman in business each month (I believe the box also comes with book club access to discuss!)

I really like the idea of The Business box and with an offer of just £10 a month for a trial box, I think it’s amazing value for money (the book alone I mentioned was over that price!) I think it’s such a lovely idea for people they were just perhaps going into business and want some inspiration and motivation. I do think it varies month to month so I am going to sign up myself for next month’s box and report back again.
