Today I wanted to talk about all my favourite blogging resources-whether its books I’ve delved into, stationary I’m loving or Podcasts I can’t get enough of! I’d love to hear your favourites too-and stay tuned for information on TWO GIVEAWAYS- One on my own blog to win a copy of ‘Blogging your Way to Riches’ and another with Old English Company
just a quick reminder of my two self-published resources before I begin (I’d feel a bit silly put my own books in the top ten but they’re definitely worth a read if you haven’t got them already!)
With my shameless self-promo out the way (hey! a girl’s got to eat); let’s get down to my top ten…
1.Blogging your Way to Riches
This is hands-down my favourite book for blogging- experienced bloggers Emma and Lynn guide you through everything blogging- from starting out, to the importance of networking face-to-face and of course: how to make money from it all!
Buy here (and keep reading to win a copy of your own!)
2. The Million Dollar Blog
At first, I wasn’t a fan of this, but on second reading; I found it really useful! It looks at all the different areas to make money from blogging-including passive income and courses and interviews many top bloggers.
Not strictly blogging but incredibly useful. I came across this gem of a book when writing a feature on books for entrepreneurs and I loved it. It’s got tips on everything from giving presentations to using Linked In and networking!
4. SEO for Food Bloggers
This book goes over the basics of SEO-specifically for those creating recipes. It’s something I’ve read through and annotated several times (Although I still need to actually implement those changes!). I think it would be useful whatever your niche-as it talks about identifying keywords, competition, using headings, planning posts around keywords and optimising images.
5.’How to style your brand’ AND ‘Brand Brilliance’.
Both of these coffee-table style books by Fiona Humberstone are simply beautiful and perfect to flick through when you’re thinking up ideas for your website or styling images for Instagram. You might not consider yourself a ‘brand’, but this will give you tons of inspiration.
Good stationary is essential for a blogger and a daily planner is pretty indispensable. I am a huge fan of planners with daily pages-so a notebook such as this beautiful pink and gold one from Old English Company is definitely on my list! As I mentioned earlier, in my post; they’re also running a competition to win a set of your own four planners- just enter here to be in with a chance to win!
I love podcasts and am always excited when new episodes are uploaded! Here’s a few that are on my must-listen to!
7.What She Said
Lucy is a really down-to-earth blogger and journalist. Each week she chats about topics such as being self-employed, making money from blogging and finding (or not finding your niche). I love how honest she is about the ups and downs of blogging and journalism and can’t wait for each episode!
Blogtacular is a yearly blogging event and also a podcast series. Each week Kat talks about lots of issues that affect the blogging world and she often has ‘expert’ speakers to delve into quite complex issues; like GDPR and ASA legalisation!
9. Hashtag Authentic
A podcast about all things Instagram and beyond.
10. Made Online
I think this podcast’s stopped now -which is a shame as I really enjoyed it! However, it’s still worth listening to previous episodes. Blogger Hayley Carr interviews successful bloggers and online entrepreneurs and there’s some fab guests-including Sara Tasker, Hannah Gale and Vix Meldrew
I hope you liked my book and podcast recommendations. Two lucky readers can win a copy of my favourite book ‘Blogging your Way to Riches’- to be in with a chance, simply enter the giveaway via Rafflecopter below!
